Friulian tradition meets jazz music: on Sunday 15 September at 8.30 p.m., in the Cortile d’Onore of Villa Manin in Passariano, FVG Orchestra brings to the stage the concert \u2018Zardini symphonic\u2019 in which pianist Glauco Venier interprets in a captivating symphonic key the fascinating Villotte Friulane, masterpieces of Friuli’s musical tradition.<\/p>

Conducted by Maestro Giuliano Medeossi and featuring the voice of Alba Nacinovich, the FVG Orchestra and Venier will involve and move the audience with a perfect fusion of orchestral grandeur and the popular soul of the famous songs composed at the beginning of the 20th century by Arturo Zardini, on the occasion of the centenary of his death. Zardini’s songs will be reworked in a jazz key, thus giving the intimacy of his compositions in marilenghe a contemporary and unprecedented guise.<\/p>

Part of the musical production of Zardini, who was born in Pontebba in 1869, was dispersed during the war, but about thirty songs remain that have become symbols of Friulian culture, such as La gnot d’avr\u00eel, Il ciant de Filologiche, La st\u00e0jare, Serenade and, the most famous of all, Stelutis Alpinis in which an Alpine soldier who died in the Great War addresses his bride.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Alba Nacinovich<\/strong> graduated in Jazz at the Conservatorio \u2018G. Tartini\u2019 in Trieste. She completed part of her studies at the ESMAE in Porto (Portugal). She has performed all over Europe with artists such as Glauco Venier, Scott Kinsey and the Joe Zawinul Legacy Band, Yazz Ahmed, Airelle Besson, Marcello Allulli, Francesco Diodati, Antonio S\u00e1nchez and Michael League on prestigious stages such as the Arena in Pula, the Radio France venue in Paris, the Porgy&Bess in Vienna and Ronnie Scott’s Upstairs in London. They win with their electronic music duo The Hunting Dogs the Arezzo Wave 2019 award as best emerging group. Their soundtracks are shortlisted at the David di Donatello and the Rome Film Festival. They appear on the album \u2018Suite for Pier Paolo Pasolini\u2019 by Glauco Venier and \u2018The Port Of Life\u2019 by \u017dan Teti\u010dkovi\u010d, winner of the \u2018Johnny Mandel 2017\u2019 award from the American ASCAP.<\/p>

She collaborates with the Euroradio Jazz Orchestra, the contemporary music ensemble Cantus from Zagreb, the Big Bands of the Croatian and Slovenian Radio and Television, the Friuli-Venezia Giulia Symphony Orchestra, as well as with the Croatian National Theatre \u2018Ivan de Zajc\u2019 in Rijeka as a soloist, actress and performer of soundtracks. With the vocal quartet Anutis she voices the sound installation \u2018Sot Glas\u2019 commissioned for the 18th International Architecture Exhibition at the Venice Biennale.<\/p>

In 2024, she won the \u2018Status\u2019 award for the best jazz instrumentalist in Croatia, the only singer ever to be admitted to the competition.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

After graduating in Organ at the Conservatorio \u2018Jacopo Tomadini\u2019 in Udine, Glauco Venier<\/strong> began his jazz career studying at important Italian masterclasses and attending great masters such as Franco D’Andrea. In 1990 he moved to Boston to study at the prestigious Berklee College of Music with pianist Ray Santisi. In the same year, he also released his first CD, entitled Finlandia. He then formed a trio with Salvatore Majore and Roberto Dani. This was the start of his long association with trumpeter Kenny Wheeler, with whom he formed a trio together with Norma Winstone, with whom he recorded two albums published by Universal Music (Chamber Music) and ECM (Distances, nominated in 2008 as best vocal jazz album at the Grammy Awards). Another notable collaboration was with Lee Konitz on the album Ides of March.<\/p>

He has performed concerts in Italy, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland, England, Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Russia, Belgium, Israel, USA, Australia, Argentina, Korea, Japan and China. He has also recorded his compositions for RAI, BBC, ORF, WDR and other Russian, Slovenian and Croatian radio and television stations.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Giuliano Medeossi<\/strong>, born in Udine, was substitute maestro at the \u2018Teatro dell’Opera\u2019 in Rome, where he was able to deepen his knowledge of vocal technique and opera repertoire. He was called upon to collaborate with the \u2018University of North Texas\u2019 with which he recorded \u2018La Cambiale di Matrimonio\u2019 by G. Rossini and \u2018La Traviata\u2019 by G. Verdi, and with the \u2018National Taiwan Normal University\u2019. He regularly holds masterclasses on orchestral conducting, is a member of judging commissions in national and international competitions, and has taught orchestral training and conducting at the Conservatories of Udine, Castelfranco Veneto and at the \u2018C. Pollini\u2019 Conservatory of Music in Padua. He is active in both the symphonic repertoire (from J.S.Bach to G.Mahler and D.Shostakovich, up to world premieres of composers such as G.Manzoni, G.Bonato, B.Strobl, I.Petri\u0107, etc.) and opera (Mozart, Rossini, Verdi, Puccini, Menotti, etc.). ), conducting in Italy (Rome, Bologna, Venice, Cagliari, Trieste, Udine, Padua, etc.) and abroad (Austria, Germany, Poland, USA, Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, etc.). He has recorded for various Italian and foreign radio and television stations, and for the Velut Luna record label, he conducted and recorded the modern premiere of the re-edition of \u2018La Clemenza di Tito\u2019 by B. The concert is free admission. In the event of bad weather, the performance will take place at the \u2018Benois De Cecco\u2019 Municipal Theatre in Codroipo.<\/p>
