Extraordinary and immediate success for “DIN DON DOWN – In Search of (G)od”, the new show featuring Paolo Ruffini and the actors of the Mayor Von Frinzius Company, which debuted last October in Livorno, selling out every date in major Italian cities. With “Din Don Down,” Paolo Ruffini and the actors of the Mayor Von Frinzius Company are repeating the success of “Up&Down,” the irreverent variety show that, since its 2018 debut, has enchanted audiences across Italy. It has become a true cultural phenomenon, carving out a space in the collective imagination and the Italian artistic heritage year after year, with over 200 performances throughout Italy and more than 120,000 tickets sold. By popular demand, this new show is coming to Friuli Venezia Giulia on July 6th (starting at 9:00 PM), in the magnificent setting of Villa Manin in Codroipo.
Tickets for the event, organized by Zenit srl in collaboration with the Regional Authority for the Cultural Heritage of FVG, the Friuli Venezia Giulia Region – Department of Culture, PromoTurismo FVG, and the City of Codroipo, are on sale through the Ticketone network. Info at www.azalea.it.
“DIN DON DOWN – In Search of (G)od” is a unique, rule-breaking comic happening that subverts the deeper meaning of what we stubbornly define as “normal.” Its goal is to surprise and enchant through the perfect mix of comedy, disobedience, and tenderness that already defined the success of “Up&Down.” The true novelty lies at the heart of the show: while “Up&Down” explored the theme of love, “Din Don Down” embraces a new grand concept—that of God.
Paolo Ruffini returns to the stage, endlessly attempting to resist the unbridled incursions of the actors with disabilities from the Mayor Von Frinzius Company. In this installment, they tackle all the dilemmas and questions surrounding the divine, regardless of the forms or guises in which each person may recognize it. Unapologetic, irreverent, and at times sacrilegious, “Din Don Down” is the perfect antidote for an era that sacrifices every form of levity and audacity at the altar of “political correctness.”
Produced and distributed by Paolo Ruffini with his company, Vera Produzione, and directed by Lamberto Giannini, the show—already enthusiastically received by audiences—has all the “ingredients” to surpass the triumph of “Up&Down”: from the unbridled freedom of the performers to the formidable ability to ironize about the present, all accompanied by the ever-present notes of Claudia Campolongo at the piano.
