Realizzata in collaborazione con la Soprintendenza archeologia, belle arti e paesaggio del Friuli Venezia Giulia l’esposizione racconta attraverso straordinarie immagini fotografiche le iniziative di protezione di monumenti e di tutela delle opere d’arte intraprese durante la seconda guerra mondiale in Friuli Venezia Giulia e in Istria.
Fra i luoghi documentati dalle immagini Villa Manin che, con il consenso dei conti che ne erano ancora proprietari, assunse in quell’occasione un ruolo di primo piano quale luogo di accentramento di opere d’arte di tutta la regione che si volevano mettere al riparo dai rischi del conflitto.
